Researching in the Caribbean Islands
While it does sound wonderful, when I say “Researching in the Caribbean Islands” I don’t mean lounging in a hammock under a palm tree on the beach with your laptop researching genealogy. Rather, I’ve started to collect websites that have some great information for those who are researching their ancestors who lived in the islands in the Caribbean Sea. The main island countries in this area are: Augilla, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States Virgin Islands.  I’ve started with a few online websites and databases for a few of these, but so far haven’t added anything for some of the bigger countries, like Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, or Puerto Rico.  I plan to continue expanding this website list, but here are a few, for starters:
