living the popeye life

“I yam what I yam and that’s all that I yam”

                                                                              ~ Popeye

What I am:

I am a passionately obsessed genealogist. I love learning and discovering, but even more, I love to help other folks connect to their families. I love sharing great websites and tools, suggesting techniques for finding information, and doing it all in a way that makes it all so much easier for everyone. I’m a giver 🙂    I also love to pass on any kind of genealogy-related information and stories that help broaden the horizon of the genealogy pursuit — Anything that makes it less about names and dates, and more about the interconnectedness of all life on this planet.

What I am not:

Independently wealthy, for one. I work a full-time, non-genealogy-related job to keep the mortgage & utilities paid, including the lifeline that is high-speed Internet service. I believe too much in sharing and genealogy being free to make a living from it.

I am not a tease. At least I don’t try to be. I don’t believe in luring folks to a website or a class or a blog with high hopes based on a headline, only to find out it’s the same old stuff in a different package. I believe in good, solid, helpful content. I think that if someone is going to take the time to read my blog, or social media post, or attend my class, the least I can do is provide enough good, solid information to have made it worth their time.

I just wanted y’all to know what to expect.
